GA Foundation's "Kick for Health" Brings Medical Relief to Hundreds

The GA Foundation's annual "Kick for Health" initiative delivered critical healthcare services to over 500 community members in Itam last Saturday. A team of 15 volunteer doctors and nurses provided free medical check-ups, malaria tests, and hypertension screenings, addressing urgent health gaps in the region. "This outreach saved my family," shared Mercy Udo, a mother of three who received free malaria treatment. "We couldn’t afford hospital fees, but today we got medicines and advice." The event also distributed 200 hygiene kits containing soap, toothpaste, and sanitary pads to promote preventive care. Key partnerships with local pharmacies and the Itam Health Association ensured a steady supply of drugs. Dr. Aniekan James, the lead physician, noted: "Many chronic cases were detected early. This intervention will reduce long-term complications."
